With approximately 810,000 residents, Charlotte is the largest city in North Carolina and is centrally located in the south of the state. It is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States, which is particularly proud of its reputation as the second largest financial center in the United States. The city is home to numerous well-known companies and has a large international airport.
Charlotte is particularly known for the professional teams of various sports. Whether basketball, football, ice hockey or soccer, you can experience great sport everywhere. Lowe’s Motor Speedway is world famous. Several NASCAR races take place on the racetrack each year and over 165,000 people cheer the drivers. In 2010 the NASCAR Hall of Fame was opened in Charlotte.
