Zurich is an interesting city with many sights.

There are quite a few in the city worth seeingParks. Belvoir Park is one of the city’s former landscaped gardens. From there you have a wonderful view of Lake Zurich and the whole city.

The splendid Botanic Garden in the University of Zurich is definitely worth a visit. Here you can visit various biotopes, but also a medium-sized multi-garden, the wadi, the spring garden or the Alpinum with mountain plants from all over the world.

The Muraltengut is a wonderful park that belongs to the country estate of the same name. The estate itself was built in the second half of the eighteenth century. theMain attraction here is the rosarium with more than five thousand rose bushes.

Other parks in Zurich are the Platzspitz, the Ritterpark, etc.

Zurich also has some special places to show. So it is worth seeing the Bellevue. The square stretches from the Zurich Opera House to the train station in Stadelhofen.

Helvetiaplatz is definitely worth seeing. The square borders directly on the infamous country road. Every first May many people meet here to celebrate, which often leads to demonstrations. On other days, intercultural events take place here, e.g. B. the long street festival and markets take place.

Paradeplatz is one of the most expensive areas of the Swiss city. The square is close to Bahnhofstrasse. The Swiss banks are often associated with his name because the country’s two largest banks are based here.

Museum lovers will certainly not miss out in Zurich either, as the city has some interesting museums to offer.

A visit to the Kunsthaus Zürich is well worth it. It stands directly on Heimatplatz and was founded in 1910. Here you can see some impressive collections of Swiss artists. The best known is the twelve-part group of works by Edvard Munch.

The Swiss National Museum is well worth seeing. Here you can see a comprehensive collection on the cultural history of Switzerland. All epochs of art history are represented here. Annually changing exhibitions also take place here.

The EG Bührle Collection Foundation is something special. This is an art museum in which the private collection of the industrialist Emil Georg Bührle is exhibited. There is a lot to see here, such as medieval sculptures, works by famous artists such as Tintoretto, Picasso, Chagall, Monet, Rubens etc.

Another museum in the city is the Zunfthaus zur Meisen. Here you can marvel at pottery and porcelain from the eighteenth century.

Art and culture are particularly important in Zurich. Therefore, the Zurich Opera House should not be missed. The opera has existed since 1891, but the building was renovated between 1982 and 1984.

The Zurich Opera House offers its visitors a program from the artistic field of ballet, opera and operetta.

The Rote Fabrik has served as a cultural center since 1987. The building has been a listed building since the 1980s.

Other theaters and operas in the city include the Schauspielhaus Zurich and the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich.

Zurich also has some sacred buildings of historical value to offer. Therefore, one should take a look at the Großmünster on Zwingliplatz. The church is one of the most famous in the city, the main features of which are the twin towers. The Romanesque style building attracts thousands of tourists to the city every year.

The Fraumünster monastery used to belong to the Benedictine monastery of Zurich. Today it is a house of worship for the evangelical reformed community.

The oldest church in the city is St. Peterskirche. It was first mentioned in ancient documents in 850. But scientists are certain that it was built two hundred years earlier. The clock face of the tower clock is the largest in Europe. The city’s first two mayors have found their final resting place here, as has a celebrity from the church, Johann Caspar Lavater.

If you are on holiday in Zurich with your family, you should not miss the Zueri Zoo. The zoological garden was established in 1929. The zoo is extremely popular because its facilities are modeled on the natural conditions in nature.
